Baby Luigi |
When I "retired" in April, I didn’t really quit working. But in the last month or so I’ve retroceded a bit more than when I first got into this stage of my life.
At first, I thought my friends and colleagues in the business would stay a part of my life. But folks in the fast lane don’t have time for those of us in the eddy. Out of sight = out of mind.
With that said, I’ve realized my best friends are not necessarily anyone who knows anything about wine. In fact, they aren’t even people.
I’ve gotten to know the cats in the house a little better. We spend a lot of time drinking coffee, taking naps, eating, taking naps, playing, taking naps, and getting into every little nook and cranny in this house. The new baby, Luigi, has been especially influential in bringing higher energy levels into the household. That is, when everyone isn’t taking a nap, which is most of the time.
Anyway, I love my human friends and family very much. And my furry family has been very helpful in the transition. This is so much better than being in an airport or an airplane. Or a hotel room. Or in a rental car. Life is slowing down.
And with that, a little more attention to the living ones around me, cats and people.
Merry Christmas everyone…. I’ll circle back next week. Peace, love and tranquility to you all.
Enjoy the pix!
